Join Our Team: Community Manager at zusa (20h/week, Berlin)
zusa, together with our diverse network of international partners, continues to support cultural and civil society actors who work toward systemic transformation across Europe, North Africa, West Asia, and beyond. We co-create inclusive, playful, and experimental formats for collaboration and exchange. Now, we are looking for a new team member to help us keep our community active and engaged.
We are hiring a Community Manager (m/f/x) for 20 hours per week at our Berlin office, starting as soon as possible, with a contract running until 13 May 2026.
In this role, you will help build and nurture zusa’s ever-growing community of cultural practitioners, artists, and changemakers. You will design networking opportunities, maintain communication with alumni from programmes like Culture Helps, All Around Culture, Tandem, and Actors of Urban Change, and play an essential part in ongoing initiatives like VAHA and The Big Green.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing community networking activities (e.g. community calls, events)
- Maintaining and working with the internal zusa community database
- Facilitating communication across project teams, alumni, partners, and funders
- Supporting the VAHA programme during peak phases: training, mentoring, coordination
- Assisting with implementation and logistics for events and project activities
- Contributing to The Big Green through knowledge exchange formats and documentation
- Mentoring and financially advising participants and grantees
- Managing interns and volunteers during high-activity periods
What we’re looking for:
- Solid experience in project and office management
- Experience with large-scale project coordination and event management
- A background in arts, culture, and/or non-formal education
- Facilitation, mentoring, and training design skills
- Familiarity with the European and international cultural/civil society landscape
- Confident digital and administrative skills
- Strong communication, intercultural sensitivity, and collaborative spirit
- Willingness to travel internationally and work occasional weekends
- Excellent command of English; German and other language skills are a plus
